Chiptune:

Chiptune is called CHIP because it is based off of 8-bit and 16-bit video games sounds. It became popular in the 80's with the rise of video games and was be used in many pop songs. BPM is not so much a factor in this genre. The sounds/samples used make this genre. Turn up the "bit-crusher" in your music making program and hear the difference! People still use these sounds today to create a Nostalgic atmosphere. This sound is found in future beat/bass and dubstep when not solely chiptune.
