darkelixirdub
haha!! don't export it until you have a clean sound. that kinda pointless! why do you export the sub anyways?? Link to comment

He's obviously just trying to show us the problem ... But yeah, it sounds like you are getting clicking because when you stop a sine wave before it's completed its cycle it will make a click when the next cycle starts when you retrigger it with another midi note. Many synths will have options on how waveforms are retriggered by midi notes. Best way to handle the problem is to play with the amplitude envelope in whatever synth you are using if you cant adjust the retriggering problem directly. Also, leaving a small amount of space in between notes on your piano roll, combined with adjusting the release of the envelope can help too. You might want to adjust the keyboard tracking for your filter cutoff in your synth too, to keep those higher notes under control. Link to comment
darkelixirdub
my sub synth is just a sine wave that has no filter. no EQ. no compression except sidechain. Link to comment
andius
hmm, how do you achieve sub movement then, pitch change? I find sub without any movement to it to be quite boring to hear on a system. Link to comment

Under92
my sub synth is just a sine wave that has no filter. no EQ. no compression except sidechain. i personally moved from that to using a "richer" waveform and cutoff all the unneeded frequencies to get a powerful sub that still reacts to all kinds of effects i might want to use. Sine waves are pretty standard but they sound really strong on a system and people compliment my sub a lot so i stick by it! :D Link to comment

ScareWare
@andius - thanks alot man, finally cleaned up my low end. get so sucked up with new information sometimes i forget the basics @under92- system or not, using dirtier low passed waveforms is something alot of producers (or so they claim anyways) end up doing at some point or another. i just like the simplicity of the sine :D which now makes me wonder, what effects do you find necessary to use on a sub? @darkelixer - how exactly do you get sub movements using low mids and keep everything clean? I guess high passing everything at a higher cutoff point would work just fine but would hate to have such tiny "big" sounds Link to comment
le'Dev
my sub synth is just a sine wave that has no filter. no EQ. no compression except sidechain. yes... this... my dark mate elixir just explained everything you need to know about sub-bass :D Sine waves are pretty standard but they sound really strong on a system and people compliment my sub a lot so i stick by it! :D +2 ... More simple it is down there, the better... Link to comment
