AKA9
i thought dj softwares usually supports flac. or is it a standalone? i know certain cdjs doesnt support flac which is wack. supports wav but for some reason u gotta pay extra for a system that can do flac/aiff *shrug* Link to comment
logic
@AKA9 yeah its a standalone, Prime 2, and indeed we have a local club here with pioneer CDJs that don't support FLAC which is fkn annoying tbh 1 Link to comment
AKA9
im glad that back when i was dj-ing in korea, i only had mp3 and wav files. since 2020, ive been just fiending all FLACs and realized its not supported by the 2000s. good thing i havent dj'd for a crowd in a while.. won't be a huge problem since i've read that you can convert all flacs into wav very easilyusing audacity. i do plan on wanting to play at bars/clubs again. started recording mixes again on my soundcloud as a way for me to get back into the groove again. also i can use my sc as a catalog to share to promoters what type of genres I play. 2 Link to comment
__
i still have all my music in aiff because of cdjs. wavs are bad with tags Link to comment
__
i guess back the they dind't have the processing power to decode them in realtime and keep up with all the hot cueing and various things a dj does. of course, all that while keeping a high standard for audio quality and reliability. fortunately storage is pretty cheap now. i remember using my sd card for storing music. i even played a set from my cf card through my card reader. the things we do for lossless audio...
