Ok so it is beyond ludicrous to actually suggest you learn nothing from a partner who is in the same craft as you - even more so than the original comments of ghost production.

It's also terrible forum etiquette to multi post to this extent, and have all of them littered with lazy grammar and spelling errors. It's very clear Smylex's comments have upset you SYSTMS - we got that - but seriously - his profile picture is literally a clown - chill.

It's not an uncommon theory that Harriet has help with her production. It seems logical considering she's only ever DJed for the vast majority of her career up until a year ago - she didn't even DJ dnb publicly until the last couple years. Smylex's comments about her interviews, in my view, refer to the fact she doesn't detail her production methods the same way other DJs do - it tends to be comments about how she got into DJing and how gassed she is for her next release. Look at some of the interviews TC has been doing as of late with DNB producers - if Harriet got on that podcast she would really help debunk this myth by showing her level of production knowledge. I would love to stand corrected on this - if there's an interview where she talks about her synth use and mastering of tracks, I haven't seen it and it would surely change my opinion on the matter.

At the end of the day this is an anonymous forum about dance music - getting butt hurt on either side of the argument is a waist of time. It's good to hear other peoples opinions, it makes you question your own.

@logic He literally began by saying "I really wanna know the man behind these!" before he edited it. That was a very clear message to me displaying sexism. I'm glad he changed it, but that sentence colored everything else he said on the subject. I originally just read the message, cringed, and moved on, but it ate at me all day yesterday until I came back and spoke my mind on it. I feel much better now. I am not cool with those kinds of statements remaining unchallenged. If we want women to feel safe in creative musical spaces then we need to craft our sentences better.

@SYSTMS I think people are raising questions not because she's a woman but because she's been dropping absolute heat out of nowhere with 0 prior productions - not even playing previously produced tracks in her sets.

That 20yr old kid probably has 200 other terrible releases online where you can hear a gradual progression. If that kid was an established DJ with no production experience who start dropping massive tracks then questions are going to be raised, regardless of their sex, if they're getting help from elsewhere

@croydsSmylex isn’t the clown at that movie, that’s called Joker ;)

Back to the grammar bandwagon...

As english isn’t my native language we always learned the phrase “man” as human being at first. I do know this and didn’t write men on purpose, you exactly know it!I don’t wanna defend myself to women/gays/black or whatever it comes to your mind as I never was sexist or racist. If I do a statement it’s most likely music related and has nothing to do with your soul!
If you don’t like my comments at least take a look on my history to make sure that I’m the guy you’ve seen making sexist comments over anything, but that was only HJ that I addressed these fake producer messages. Other artist was Goldie that is also dodgy for me, it might be worth to watch out for a “tutorial” by him let’s say the one with Heist you’ll understand what it really mean to have a “partner that helps”...

@Smylex Thanks for clarifying. I found the previous comment I remembered and it was also related to HJ, and it wasn't particularly sexist. Good to know that english is not your first language. That is an important detail.

I'm glad we could chat about this and get most of it figured out.
