Hack Jerer
And by the way, the reason they say moombah is because it's near / or the same bpm as it This is quickly becoming a battle of attrition, apparently nobody understands what makes a moombah track. Link to comment
Ambrosia
It's usually between 100 - 110, its origins are from dirty dutch slowed down, with that latin/tribal/reggaeton feeling drum pattern. It's all about that percussion setup. It's got that slow bounce, dance feel to it. Edited February 27, 2012 by Ambrosia Link to comment
tehRoyal
Wow, come on fellas. Moombah draws a lot from the 6/8, "swung triplet" feel. To be specific, the drums usually focus on a dotted 8th folllowed by a 16th rhythm. this gives the rhythm enough "space" on the off beat to create that "bouncy" feel. Which is an entirely different rhythmic feel, from Mid-Tempo- but still having the same bpm. Tbh, I would say Mid-tempo is a broad genre, with moombah being a sub-genre. I wouldn't say mid-tempo is a genre cos noone really calls it that, it doesn't have an 'official' name :D semingly we just stick things in here that are roughly 100 bpm and don't fit in the other sections ;) Link to comment
