andius
I think a better way to do this would be to have a sample pack that we all download, or some sort of restriction on theming. Will make it more interesting to see how producers re-work the same samples/materials IMO. Link to comment

Bulker
My entry fixed the link I agree with Andius. I was thinking something similar. Not theming, but what about Genre? A new genre every week? Or maybe musical theming such as 'minimal' Link to comment
wastemen
themes would be nice, I'm definitely down for this! Link to comment
Anunnaki
These are all great ideas (beer) weekly, monthly tunes... or team up-s (same DAW, same genre), or ... dunno (beer) Link to comment
dj fanelli
Guys for right now, no limits. just the 1-2 minute length. I plan on doing this often though, and sure we can all vote on themes for next time. But for this Monday, Just do whatever. If you want to make everything from scratch, sure it won't sound as complete as someone dropping samples. But I'm sure most of us here can notice the difference and that's why I think we should award for "most popping" and "most technical/hipster/experimental" For example, the thing I'm turning in, I of course sampled my drums, but I created my bass and synths all in sylenth from scratch. At least that's what I did last weekend, I may do something different for this monday. Remember, DUE MONDAY, then we vote winner from tuesday-fri, then a new one next MONDAY. If anyone wants to get and interesting stem pack, to have a competition limited by that for a week, then by all means go for it. If everyone down then yeah for that week we can have limits. Also Anunnaki - that's balling and Bulker, 55 seconds! their was 1 rule man! 1 rule!! lol. Those are sick vocals though. I like it though, see already the 2 people posting have different sounds. Reason being is I rather people just come in and have fun. When you put limits say "lets do dubstep", then people who enjoy dubstep will be down, while if you don't like it you may not be interested in joining. By having no limit do the genre you enjoy; or one you haven't done before. This also allows us to hear more of a variety of music. Link to comment
