Anyone down for a good ol fashion fun production battle?

Rules:

1-2 minute beat (go for 90 second average?), ends sunday 12 am your time. on monday we can vote for the winner.

Starts now, start making whatever you want.

Feel free to use loops, samples, instruments, vocals, banjo, miley, tasha from the hood, and elephant named dumbo. anything. Their are no rules.

one for creativity/technique/skill/ the book worm of trophies.

one for which song was just pops! (like dj that in a club make it bounce)

each person is allowed a vote for their favorite song, if you are posting your own music; you can vote twice (give yourself one, give someone else one, or just give 2 other people one.

That way to promote people to post more, and to give them a slightly more influence.

Then we round up all the points by the end.

Idea is to treat it like a rap battle though, this is what makes this a bit different then just posting your mixes. As in feel free to use mad amounts of criticism, as in this is a place that you should drop your beats into as long as you have some skin on ya; because everyone who's also dropping their songs should be commenting on other peoples songs.

Of course don't be mean, I'm pretty sure that's against forum rules. But by all means, give people criticism and let them know what could of been done better in their song. That's the main take for this. I think most people always feel shy about giving their 2 cents specially if it's something they don't like. But that's the stuff we all need some thick skin for and to hear. I need to know when my drums

By all means, this is a way to have fun, do something new, and FORCE yourself to start and finish a piece within a day. That means mix/production/and write and/or arrange some loops together. GO WITH YOUR GUT ON THIS. make stuff that just sounds good and raw, and don't worry about the details (unless that is your thing).

Also sorry for my really bad grammar, anyone who has taken some college classes (like me) and passed with an A (not like me) wants to write up a better format be my guest. I'll rewrite this when I get some 'ahem sleep.

Also I'm up for modifying this in any way to fit clubland's style. I just want to get a weekly thing going and get more action. This will be a, start sometime on lazy sunday, and finish by sunday kind of thing. Heck finish in 1 hour. that's probably what I"ll be doing, start to finish 1 hour projects.

It's not due until 11:59 pm today, but since this is the first time, i'll let the rules bend. How about this, it's due anytime this week for a warm up.

But this isn't something that you need a lot of time for. This is, jump on your favorite DAW, open a new template, and just go; 1 hour. When that hour is up, master it real quick, and then post.

I want to have this every week, so don't take to much time on it, their will be another one next week :D

Again, 90 second average, but 1 miniute-2 minute is all you need. Make it simple but exiting, or go for complex and in depth experimental.

Shit, just do whatever is fun for you :D I think this is also really good practice cause how many of us have worked on a song, and it took WAAAY to much time to finish. In fact it was probably done like 4 days ago, but you wanted to just keep tweaking to perfect it. This production battles will help us realize, sometimes your gut was the best choice. Of course anything can be better, but we only have like.. what... 65 year average lifespan? SHIT, we don't have all lifetime!

Hey sorry for the double post. But I decided this is now due next sunday by 11:59 for "week 1" of the ra... whoops, production battle.

This will give people more time to discover this post :P

After that it will be every sunday, idea is to just wake up foggy from a saturday night of clubbin, and make a quick beat on your lazy sunday. Then post by the end of the night. I can't wait for some good relaxing hang over music to be honest lol. (even though my first project I got started for me is 140 bpm hardcore. It's something I never done before! so it's perfect! :D
