Yeah, those do appear to be dogs... Not sure about the reasoning behind that or the coat of arms, unfortunately. I do know that the coupled figures standing on the piers (surrounding the round rose window) are figures from the Old and New Testament. That's about the extent of my knowledge lol. We saw so much stuff during the trip that I can hardly remember any specifics.

Edit: Almost every duomo we visited throughout the trip had impossible amounts of detail involved in the outer (and sometimes inner) construction. Beautiful (approve)

I dont really know how to feel about this... like why is that one guy in the forefront the only one holding himself so proudly?

i wonder what his significance is in the picture.

really creepy overall feel, almost wrong feeling about it. idk really unique painting but I do not know how I feel about that content yet...

Just my best guess, I don't really know- that figure may have been the first to rise from the dead. I didn't know much about this particular painting until I did a bit of reading up on the Chapel:

The Resurrection of the Flesh is a study by Signorelli, exploring the possibilities of the male and female nude, while trying to recreate a three-dimensional setting. Signorelli shows his mastery in depicting the many positions of the human body. The risen, brought back to life, are crawling in an extreme effort from under the earth and are received by two angels in the sky blowing on a trumpet.

Further reading if you are truly interested in the details of this particular painting within the Chapel:

I wasn't generally concerned with the subject matter of a lot of these paintings as much as I was in the technical use of skill and application, although content is a no-brainer when evaluating and viewing art of this caliber. Our travels were so relentless, I was often too exhausted to truly consider the content of each and every work we saw each day (that's what the pictures are for). Now that I'm back, I'm really enjoying looking into all of these things that I saw while I was there.
