Hello all,

Everyone here on EDMC are all almost either DJ,  producer or something else so, ladies and gentlemen I create this topic for us to share our personal or professional setup and of course our feedback on gear. Do not hesitate to share and tell us more about your music gear. Definitely guys I know how we are all proud of our gear so please don't laugh a those who are starting with some tiny budget, we all begin from  scratch.

I guess that it's time to throw some gear:

For producing:

  • Monitor: Presonus Eris E8
  • Midi keyboard: Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S49 MK2 (The Black Keys Limited Edition :smoke:)
  • DAW Controller: Native Instruments Maschine Studio (The S49 and Maschine Studio is such a powerful combo for NI Plug Ins/DAW)
  • Audio interface: Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 MK2
  • DAW: Ableton Live 10 Standard / Native Instruments Maschine
  • Monitoring headphone: Audio Technica ATH M50X
  • Plug Ins: Xfer Serum / Native Instruments Komplete Select/ Sylenth1
    • Plug ins are really nice however I think that I will go for hardware synth
  • Sample: Loopcloud ! (Really guys give it a try)
  • Acoustic treatment: DIY (Yeah guys do it yourself, this will save you a lot of money for the same result. )

For DJing:

  • Controller: Native Instruments Traktor S8
  • Turntable: 1 Pair of Audio Technica AT LP 120 (So i can use those timecoded vinyl with my controller)
  • Headphone: Sennheiser HD 25
  • Software: Traktor Scratch Pro

Computer Configuration (Yes this so important for some of us, will just stick to the important parts)

  • Processor: Intel Core I5 10600k
  • RAM: 2 X 16gb
  • SSD: Samsung Evo 970 Nvme 500gb ( Spend some money on your ssd, the better they are the faster your pc will be. Use your ssd to install software,  plug ins and sample. Use a HDD to store your production or music library)
  • GPU:  No GPU, ohhhh that's a shame !!! Not at all, everything run smoothly, don't fall into that gaming trap unless you want to use your pc for gaming.

As you can see, you don't have to spend tons of money to have a decent work station for your musical needs. Must precise that's  for my personal use not for professional thing.

For those who are typing nervously on their keyboard about Mac Vs Windows please keep calm, I have both of them and the Mac is the M1 chips that I use. It's the same thing. It really depend on how your are comfortable with the two different environment. However be advise that not all software/ plugins are ready for the Apple M1 chips, so if ou are a mac user better wait to upgrade or invest.

As you can see I have a lot of Native Instruments product, I do not think they are over rated product, I use them everyday and trust me they are really well built (No sponsored ads :laugh1:).

Again guys I have start with a little 25 key midi keyboard and one of the worst laptop ever 10 years ago so cmon be gentle.

Well people hope that the community will follow and participate to this topic.

Enjoy and keep dropping some beats !

PS: Yeah i know my english is so bad.
