What is Triphop/Downtempo?

Trip-hop/Downtempo:

This is much like ambient music but the drums and percussion are still present in these genres. Trip-hop will have a more bass heavy feeling, but still very melodic and with a continuous sound. It borrows sounds from midtempo genres and psychedelic.  Downtempo is a great adjective for itself. The music will sound much slower and softer than dance music. Downtempo is often melancholic rather than uplifting, it is made to relax to.
