Walter Wonkite Posted February 8, 2016 Share Posted February 8, 2016 Moombah is a mixture of electro house and reggaeton, featuring high-pitched laser-like house synths and the general house vibe, but at a lower BPM (typically 100-112 or so), with an offbeat latin drumbeat: The Kick drum remains at its everpopular 4-on-the-floor house beat (Kick Drum on every beat). However,the snare does not hit on the 2nd and 4th beats like other styles of house music, but rather just before the 2nd beat, between the 2nd and 3rd, just before the 4th, and between the 4th and 1st of the next bar. This is characteristic of latin-inspired dance music and is unmistakable once it has been noticed, giving the beats that "boom - dun - dun -dun, boom -dun - dun - dun" vibe.
