Arcendus
Quote One branch of trap that is gaining a particularly strong following is the “hybrid trap” movement, which highlights the synthesis of dubstep’s bass and grime sounds with trap music’s hip-hop and 808 drum influences. Examples: Spoiler https://soundcloud.com/pegboardnerds/pegboard-nerds-x-misterwives https://soundcloud.com/candcofficial/miskatonik-original-mixdown https://soundcloud.com/trapmusic/the-limit-by-laxx-edm-com https://soundcloud.com/lindien/apashe-battle-royale-vip So basically, Hybrid Trap = Trap + Dubstep. Cancel🐐
On 11/9/2015 at 10:35 PM, Cancel said: So far I've been playing it by ear, there is no one single blueprint to making it. It's not like "riddim" and limited to a general "cookie-cutter" production style, as you can see with the tracks posted already there is a lot of variation, different production style and different takes one the sound from artist to artist, but one thing that remains common in all the tracks is that heavy, almost dubstep-ish bass feel over the trap style beats that I hear. The stabby synths & bass growls over the 808's & hi hats is wicked! And of course there is the all too common lex luger style chants, and various other rap/hip-hop sampling. >>>Like This<<< I find it very*different* from other generic Trap acts such as UZ, Floss, Hucci, Alex Young, LOUDPVCK etc. etc., and by *different*, I mean it's a noticeably heavier trap sound all together. I'm just as new to this as anyone else here but I think I'm on the right track. Arkaid13
@stijn1191 Exactly! Didn't even need this sub-genre lmao 1 2 Link to comment
Dooossss
Lmao people on clubland always trying to invent new sub genres smfh. Trapstep makes more sense as a genre name and people have been using it for almost 4 years now. Every time people give specific ass explanations of what some bullshit "new" sub genre should be you limit people and cause unnecessary confusion. 2 Link to comment
