Walter Wonkite
Dutch House is an offshoot of electro house and displays the same 4-on-the-floor style (typical house style: a kick drum on every beat, snare on the 2nd and 4th beat), however it has more of an emphasis on the mid/treble range rather than basslines, with high pitched, catchy, wonky synthesizer sounds and often vocal chops. Dutch House tpically has a very upbeat, happy, bouncy vibe to it and has many similarities that make it a close relative to Melbourne Bounce (a father figure, one could say.) The difference here is the presence of an offbeat bass pump in Melbourne (syncopated bass). If it sounds like Melbourne Bounce but doesn't have that syncopated bass pump, it's more than likely Dutch House. (Note: Will tie in link to what is Melbourne Bounce thread, as these are confused quite often) 1 Link to comment
