Monitor speakers crackle when changing the volume

cant find another proper section, so theres probably someone around here that can help.

i have my monitor speakers (hs80m) hooked up to my interface (22vsl), which is hooked up with my pc via usb. so the interface is the main part of my system, where both moniter speakers go in with single mono-cables in the back.

see the "main out" right here

so theyre connected via phone jack (mono, obviously, goes into the interface) and XLR (goes into the speaker). theyre powered via a frame connector with a separate switch to turn it on and off, which is just used for these speakers and that ones using a single plug socket on my wall.

so far so good, everythings working fine, sounds good, but as soon as i change the main volume on the interface, the (from my point of view) left speaker is starting to crackle and makes weird noises as long as i turn the volume knob.

so i tried to change the cables, didnt help, theyre all good. if i use my speakers with my phone, everythings fine. if i use other speakers on my interface, everythings fine - so im at a point where im guessing that theres some problem with my wiring or generally the electricity in my room.

anyone know ANY help to this?

hey buddy this is tell tale latency issues, find your latency settings... sometimes when it is set to high the it just cant keep you and you can get a super annoying cackle sound.. adjust to what works best for youre setup and it will be gone

the problem is that this is not happening while producing, so that my program fucks up, its while playing music (or even when nothing is played at all). its not like the sound is crackling, its just like a distortion noise coming from the box that doesnt effect the output sound, its separate.

hmm...

ive had issues before where i could actually hear the RFI from my mouse scrolling.(Using the scroll wheel) being picked up on dead air... this i related to the magnetic power in the speakerand poor sheilding in the mouse....but ive had issues where my speakers will crack, without sound.. from an out of date driver on my interface... sorry its hard to trouble shoot a sound without hearing it.. but to be clear, does the sound take place with the interface detached? just speakers, no other inputs or anything. I would still check you latency settings just incase. they can be adjust still without being in your daw( at least mine can)

i think i can adjust them somewhere, yeah. and i know its pretty damn hard to troubleshoot when youre not there.

its just that as soon as i turn the volume up or down on my interface (controlling both speakers at the same time), the from my point of view left one crackles. but that only happens when i turn it up or down rather fast, no issues accure when i turn it slowly (so imagine from 0 to full in 5-6 seconds is okay, while drastically turning it down f.e. when you forgot to change the volume when leaving and turning on a super loud tune that you instantly turn down). the last example would end up in crackling for the time i actually turn the volume.

it doesnt effect the sound nor does it do anything to the quality, its just painful to hear everytime. as soon as i come home in december i could record it actually if that helps.

Make sure there are NO intercepting signals [leakage] from the AI [Audio Interface] and your main speaker [and/or amplifier]. That includes indirect signals from your cell phone, radio, and other devices such as a remote. Poor shielding or not; it all works the same way-nothing has changed.

I do recommend to have your speakers at a mid high volume while your AI is controlling the gain.

Also have your cables running no more than 15ft in your home-unless you're setting up for a concert.

TLDR: Clear path for audio. [worry about latency later]. Set amp or speaker volume to the volume you most desire [usually at a normal rate] and controller the volume as a gain from your AI.
