Mephistopheles
I'm going to Japan in a month... Iv'e been there about 7 times before, but only as a teacher in Aikido. Next month will be my first actual tournament. And if you don't know, Aikido doesn't actually have "official" tournaments. Why you ask? Because they don't give a flying F about class... Let me clarify... Even MMA has wheightclasses, that's not the case here for me. Just google it's a yin/yan based martial art. I'm not gonna write an essay here... But I feel lucky, after 12 years I got qualified. I will let you know how it all went. I'm just posting this because my first opponenent is an MMA buff. 120 kg ( I'm 57 kg) , but whatever he has bad technique lol, as long as he doesn't knock my fucking brains out i'll win lol I'm more afraid of the son of Jigoro Kano, a Judo LEGEND tryin Aikdio out. he's my second opponent). Like for real check this out ... My second opponent is a founder of a style of judo. This is f*cking insane. His style Is considered the most effecient trowing form in judo in Japan. If I'm allowed to film I will !! This is old skool Aikido, my speciality, Ueshiba O Sensei-san wrote the books i learned from... if you don't know Aikido = ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aikido ) Whish me luck yall !! ❤️ Edited September 23, 2019 by Mephistopheles 3 Link to comment

Section Lead apocolyps755 Posted September 26, 2019 Section Lead Share Posted September 26, 2019 @Mephistopheles good luck to you man! I’ve done martial arts throughout my youth and teen years. Did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kung Fu, and kickboxing. I’ve only done a dozen tournaments or so in BJJ and I thought they were fun. I’ve always wanted to wanted to push further into tournaments etc but by then it was just too expensive sadly. Good luck on the tournament. I bet it must be exciting but a bit scary. Regardless, keep chasing what you love doing, and please let us know how it goes! 1 Link to comment

Mephistopheles
I won 5 matches and lost 2. I had to trow in the white flag. My Japanese teacher didnt want me to fight one handed ( the mma buff broke 3 fingers of mine on one hand in the first match ) So I won 4 matches with one hand kinda. I punch harder open palm. I only need fingers to grip. This will make sense if you know some form of defense. I got knocked out in 3rd match, and broke a rib. So when i went to the semi finals my sensei stopped me. He said you can win but you will destroy your body, because you can ignore pain. He said, some good advice is never to ignore pain. So I stopped. I won a medal for dedication. Plus I won fights to people who do this for a living. Like military, teachers, etc. I think I made a name for myself. I also got invited for a next tournament in 5 months. A ninjitsu one. but I declined. If you don't know, ninjutsu matches end when somebody gives up. Meaning blood, broken bones etc... I feel good even if in pain. Ihaven't had a training partner for years. I just climb trees at night blindfolded and low fat dieet. I basically torture myself. And now I know It was worth it. PS I did film, but had to send footage for review. When It gets approved I might be able to upload. I bet you guys wanna see me win and eventually get knocked the fuck out xD. Also my last fight was allready dissapproved. Too much blood. I Smashed the guys nose in, and he broke my rib, and i spat blood. so nsfw haha. But i'll try to upload !! Much love, your crazy music friend, Mario Edited October 3, 2019 by Mephistopheles 1 Link to comment

DoubleDee
Aikido is the biggest joke in all of martial arts. Completely ineffective against anyone who has ever taken an beginner boxing, kicking boxing, muay thai class. The video you linked is an even bigger joke, demostrations are easy when you let someone throw you around. That guy is like a 100 years old and if anyone wanted to actually punch him in the face there is little to nothing he could do, even with 70 years of "martial arts" training. 1 Link to comment
Mephistopheles
Also I don't understand how I won 3 matches with one hand. But that's aikido/ yin yan for you. As soon as I gain "balance" I'll f you up. Only problem now is work haha Link to comment
