I'm Typesgal

Hello everyone,

I just realised that I have never shared my Typesgal alias here on this forum so far. I'm designing typefaces and lettering, the latter is mostly new retro style. I always draw them first on paper and then digitally. Here are a couple of them:

Woah!! What's your view on doing cover art etc???

@metaphor I'm doing this stuff as a hobby only, I don't have too much time for commissions, sorry. And tbh I don't even want to do it as a work/job, It kills the joy.:)

Fantastic stuff! As someone who's always worked pretty much 100% digitally (outside the usual thumbnail/rough sketches), this kind of thing really makes me want to work on my hand-drawn illustration game. Frankly though I can't figure out where to start

I'm trying to figure out what advice I could give, but honestly I'm not the one to do so. All I can say is if you start it, go for simplicity. Try drawing and coloring and blending as plainly as you just can, and when you feel comfortable, start going more and more complex. There are things that need learning, like the lettering in my case, you need to know the right sizes and proportiones and spaces to make it look good. But most of the rest is just practice and usually way easier than first seems.
