smellow
I want to create a brass sound in Reason but I don't know how. I tried around a lot with Thor but it wasn't really satisfying... Is there maybe anybody who can tell it in a few words or who can post a link of a tutorial? :) I also looked for it but didn't really found anything now. And I don't want to use samples... It don't even have to be a realistic brass sound. Just something sounding close to it. Any help would be great! :) Link to comment
patz1ku
I think yyou should try out an nnxt sampler and browse reason factory soundbank/nnxt patches/brass. There are some intruments such as horn sax etc (same about nn19 and its folder) After you can twist it hundred ways to get what you want. Other option is sample packs or other samples;) I hope I could help! Link to comment
smellow
thanks but isn't there a possibility to build them with a syth? or is there maybe a nice buyable vst for such sounds? Link to comment
patz1ku
hm you might search for some synth patches in google, idk if there is possibility on making them and idk much about vsts I'm still using 5.0:D Link to comment
MacBailey
I believe Malström would be your best bet if you are using an older version! Try the BrokenBrass Link to comment

ShadowDubz
You can make pretty much any sound using synths like Thor, Malstrom, Subtractor, etc. you just have to shape the sounds, you can get a decent base synth (I'd say for brass you'd want a soft saw & a triangle synth - although that's just my thoughts, not knowledge), and then EQ it to shape it, give it certain edges & spikes to boost certain elements. If you want to get really into it then automate each control on the EQ and change the shape of certain notes to make them sound more realistic (or sometimes for more fun, more unrealistic). ;) Link to comment
