I didnt really get into it until I met my girlfriend. If you like films due to their ease but prefer the books for detail, il upload the audio books, they're even better as they are read by stephen fry, so good times.

Do you think they killed the deathly hallows scene where harry is saying by to the Dursleys, the book gave it so much more feeling and emotion, especially dudley

Spoiler

saying about how harry saved him from the dementors and shook his hand or gave him a hug, it shows a change in charecter with the story over time, how he used to bully harry and ends up not wanting to go in the end as he felt safe around harry

Spoiler

Luna lovegood on point doe so +1 to the film

Dude, 100% agree on all these points!!

I read the books a good couple of years ago now, so I can't really comment in detail, but I remember at the time I was super pissed off that they didn't show all the memories in the Half-Blood Prince film. All of that insight into Tom Riddle not even in the films.

Books! A couple years had passed since I last read the books (read them 3 times) so I don't remember all the details and differences to the movies but yeah, some major parts have been cut out. The Dudley thing and the Tom Riddle memories mentioned above are fine examples. Also in the 4th part they cut how Hermione fucked that riporter woman up. Even though it's not really an important part of the plot but it went pretty much all along the part and was funny how it ended.

And in the 5th part (not sure tho) Harry talked a lot to Sirius and they really got close to each other. As far as I remember it wasn't really shown in the movie but this made his death way more touching in the book.

Aside from HP I always think that for longer series books like this it would be better to make seasoned series instead of a couple movies (like GoT).
