Empower the Underground

CLLV friends and family, thank you for stopping into this thread.

For those of you who don't know, my name is Emilio, a.k.a. EVO. I used to producer under 'LateNiteLeon' but eventually passed that project to the past for a more true identity as an artist.

For those of you who are interested in my experience as a producer, see this excerpt from my Show me your DAW thread:

Spoiler

"I used FL for about 12 years, before delving deeply into Ableton for a year, while using FL as a VSTi inside Ableton ;p Now, I use Ableton with IL Plugins from FL, and a bunch of other goodies.

I chose this method because I found I grew to really appreciate ableton's more 'technical' look and feel, despite my deep love for FL's beauty and user-friendly design. However, on the deeper, more complex levels, FL get's a tad tedious with steps. As I always say, in music production, there's a million ways to accomplish the same effect. But, in FL, you feel every step of the process. In Ableton, things are a lot more "at your finger tips" than most realize.
I also realized I truly only LOVED FL's plugin selection from Image-Line. So I just use those in ableton instead."

With all that being said, let's get to the real point...

Ultimately, throughout my life, Electronic Music, and the people that make it, have always resonated with me the most. The limitless creativity and passion that was found and felt through endless waves of heart-pounding beats and euphoric melodies, the intensity of heavy basses and head-knocking drops, and all the beautiful weirdness found inbetween. All carried on the wrecking balls that are our efforts as artists to break down genre walls and blur the lines between what we have known as music and what we don't know! THIS scene is so beautiful and ugly in so many ways, and it's so full of untapped potential!

So many artists who create beautiful music; drops that give you chills; unknown painters on a foreign canvas....so many get lost to the oversaturated pool of uploads and downloads. And some just aren't even found...yet.

Well, a friend of mine and I are here to change that...

A friend of mine, @Space Kraft, and I have noticed a major gap in the way listeners discover their artists. A lot of times, we find artists that have been "discovered" already, and we find them because we follow major music blogs and podcasts, or listen to certain youtube channels or twitch streams.
But, as we search, we find that it's still a very limited selection; blogs and soundcloud labels who have to approve who they feature via submission, all at the mercy of the hidden faces behind the email submission forms; artists who show up because they pay for exposure (nothing wrong with paid promotion, but not everyone can afford it, ya dig?); sponsored artists funneled via algorithms chosen by all the likes (intentional and gated) that you've whored out over the years.

Our answer to this is...

Empower the Underground will be a hub of appreciation, promotion, and knowledge of the underground electronic music producer. Hosted by myself, and @Space Kraft, on Twitch and Youtube, we will be digging and discovering underground artists every day, to bring their songs into live-streamed mixes, the artists into interviews, and their creativity into production insights and tips. Who knows, you may even learn a thing or two from someone we feature. ;]

Why are we doing this?

We want to.
But to elaborate, we simply have noticed a major gap in the artists that we know of (for the most part). As an electronic music producer, you're either a huge producer/DJ already, with all the know how and skill to build dope tracks, play dope shows, and even find dope underground music that others can't get (our just don'
t know how), OR, you're stuck in the studio make song after song and struggling to gain the audience you deserve...

Well, we aim to change that, through our efforts of simple promotion, and sharing the wealth of music production knowledge found amongst ourselves and every other underground electronic music producer out there on their grind.

We aim to brind the underground electronic music producer community together, dropping all bullshit genre-boundaries and closed-mindedness to other genre's, and collectively feeding each other with the knowledge to create.

We aim to empower the underground.

If you guys find this interesting, please give us your support!
We aren't launching yet, but we are in the final weeks, and we could use all the support and input we can get!

If requested, I will post social media pages for all ETU related accounts.

P.S. If you know of any amazing underground artists who get slept on, post them here! Let us know so we can share their music and reach out to them!
