afakematt Posted October 24, 2022 Share Posted October 24, 2022 (edited) Hey folks, I've made some mixes over the past couple years that was kind of supposed to be background music to hitting the local park with a few pals, a couple tinnies, and a bit of bud as we watch the sun set. A lot of my mates aren't into dance music so the idea was to throw in some really bait stuff, mix it in with some really nice basslines, and if they enjoyed them, give them a tiny bit of the culture and history of dnb too. The first one did really well in the mixcloud charts and a lot of my mates gave me feedback over lockdown saying they enjoyed it and wanted more, so it's kind of become an annual staple of my direction with mixing now. The focus is pretty simple - mix up pop music, rich, deep basslines, and big drum and bass anthems in a smooth riding, easy going liquid-dancefloor mix, that hopefully would get a stamp of approval from any new-to-listening dnb head, or a veteran liquid enjoyer.
