budget midi keyboard

writing a melody sucks when all you have is a computer keyboard so Im looking to get a midi keyboard, something with room for more than one hand like 32-49 keys, around 4 knobs, sliders are nice but not necessary and pads are not necessary, the keys are the most important to me tho, im still a noob to keyboards so my hands fumble and it's easy to hit the wrong note so those mini keys aren't going to work for me, semi-weighted would be nice. any suggestions? $200(ish) is my budget

If you can wait till "early" Novemeber, this might be just what you're looking for:

Impact LX

The keys aren't weighted BUT it's 49 keys, and has all the other stuff you could ever need. It'll probably be right around your price range also. It's going to be their "budget" model.

the samson isn't really what im after, but that impact is nice, maybe ill wait for it, anyone have experience with the oxygen 49mk3? has decent reviews.

for reference: Amazon.com: M-Audio OXYGEN49MK3 Oxygen 49 MIDI Controller: Musical Instruments

Yessir! I have it in my studio. Feels really good, responds is perfect! Only bit I thought was a bit negative is that its huge, but if you have enough space this is the best budget keyboard you want IMO! Its pretty much plug and play for whatever software you use, works like a charm! M-Audio stuff never seizes to amaze me!

definitely get the novation launchkey.

from the 49 key-version you got all features the 61 has as well, including

- 16 pads that you can assign however you wish

- 8 assignable knobs

- 8 assignable slider

- pitch/mod-wheel

and whatnot. definitely get that one. should get that under 200 bucks as well.
